History
Energy Solutions was established in 1998, by Szymon Duniec in Varberg, on the west coast of Sweden. Since then, we have stayed true to our mission for over two decades and provided both nuclear establishment as well as authorities with professional support in radiation safety related tasks.
Our Team
Szymon Duniec
Founder
After acquiring a university degree in radiation physics, Szymon worked a few years as a hospital physicist at the University Hospital in Lund. Then started his professional carrier within nuclear industry at ASEA Atom (ABB Atom, Westinghouse) Later on he became supervisor of the radiophysics department at the Ringhals NPP. In 1998 Szymon founded Energy Solutions and participated in a wide spectrum of different projects related to radiation safety. Among others Szymon worked with:- Improvement of radiation safety at the Ignalina NPP in Lithuania - Decommissioning of ACL laboratory at Studsvik - Study of radiation build-up in process systems at the Forsmark NPP - Improvement of radiation protection routines at Ontario Generation NPPs in Canada. At present, Szymon is engaged in decommissioning projects at the Barsebeck NPP, responsible for radiation categorisation of the power plant.
Dan Aronsson
Expert of Radiation Safety
Dan is a highly qualified professional with nearly 40 years of experience within radiation- and nuclear physics, nuclear chemistry, and nuclear safety. With a Master of Chemical Engineering and Ph.D. in reactor physics, he has acquired know-how from the nuclear industry, regulatory work, research, teaching at the university and international support missions. He had a position as the manager of the radiation physics department at the Ringhals NPP and later worked as a specialist and as a radiation protection supervisor at the plant. This has given him ample opportunities to acquire excellent knowledge of the whole nuclear field - specifically in Sweden but also internationally.
P-O aronsson
Radiochemist
Beginning his career in 1968 P-O´s list of achievements is comprehensive. With a Master of Chemical Engineering and a Ph.D. in Nuclear Chemistry, he found his way to the Ringhals NPP, where he started as a manager at the Department of Radiochemistry. Here he developed expansive knowledge in the field and became a driving force for the development of i.a. leak detection, measurement methods and analysis at the plant, as well as acting as a teacher in training courses for radiation protection personnel, reactor operators and radiophysicists.P-O has an extensive list of publications, contributed to international conferences, and has participated as Swedish representative in technical meetings at the IAEA on release monitoring, release reduction and environmental monitoring.
Kurt Sundin
Licenced medical physicist.
Kurt is a medical physicist with experience mainly within nuclide specific gamma ray spectrometry in laboratory as well as in the environment. He has been responsible for a part of the national emergency preparedness program, performing whole body measurements, maintenance and calibration of gamma detectors. Presently, Kurt works with the decommissioning process at the Barsebeck NPP as an expert in clearance of the plant equipment.
Mats Hansson
Licenced medical physicist.
Mats studied at Lund University and graduated as medical radiation physicist He worked at the Department of Medical Radiation Physics at Lund University. He has taught math at upper secondary school (high school) . Presently Mats is working with the decommissioning of the Barsebeck NPP. His tasks consist of i.a. nuclide specific measurements.
